PSCCU's Orcas Island Branch is now open, providing in-person credit union services to residents and visitors alike. Parking Lot Construction Update—Week of Aug 24

Building Access Information

The parking lots in front of and behind the Eastsound Post Office building are now closed except for the disabled-accessible parking spaces in front of the U.S. Post Office. All others should utilize on-street parking during construction.

All businesses in the building may be accessed during regular hours via the Post Office entrance on the west side of the building. Those who require assistance should contact the businesses directly:

Construction Activites Schedule

  • Work on the new, covered walkway on the front (south) of the building will continue for the next couple of weeks.
  • The back parking lot is being prepared for demolition and regrading which is expected to begin the week of September 7.
  • Roof replacement will also begin around September 7.

Background

Puget Sound Cooperative Credit Union (PSCCU), owner of the property since 2021 will be resolving long-standing water drainage issues, regrading and repaving the lots and driveways, and enhancing the property with a covered walkway, new landscaping, and updated signage.

Construction is now expected to run into October. PSCCU, the U.S. Postal Service, and Center for Creative Repair will maintain normal business hours throughout the process. When visiting, please follow signage regarding parking and building access.

Call for Artists

The branch will feature a dedicated area to showcase artwork by local artists, giving them a welcoming venue to display and sell their work. Artists interested in showing their pieces are invited to contact the credit union at Orcas@psccu.org. Read more details.
