Call for Artists for New Orcas Branch

Puget Sound Cooperative Credit Union (PSCCU), Washington's Green Credit Union®, is calling on artists from Orcas Island and the broader San Juan Islands community to display their work at its new Eastsound branch at 221 A Street, Orcas Island, in the Post Office building. An open house will be held on June 20 with the branch and ATM opening for business on June 22.

As PSCCU has done on Vashon Island, the Orcas Island branch will feature a dedicated area to showcase artwork by local artists, providing a welcoming, year-round venue to display and sell their creations. PSCCU is committed to being more than a place to do your banking. It aims to be an active, invested member of the Orcas Island community, and celebrating local artists is a natural part of that commitment.

"Orcas Island has a vibrant, talented artistic community, and we want our branch to reflect that. Our gallery space is an opportunity to bring art and community together in an everyday setting and to give local artists a beautiful, accessible place to share their work with residents and visitors alike," said Brandy McBride, CEO.

Artists of all mediums are encouraged to contact the credit union. Whether working in painting, photography, sculpture, fiber arts, printmaking, jewelry, or other visual forms, PSCCU would love to hear from prospective contributors. The branch's gallery space is envisioned as a rotating showcase that highlights the rich artistic talent found throughout the San Juan Islands.

Artists interested in displaying their work are invited to contact PSCCU at Orcas@psccu.org. Please include a brief description of the work, medium, and any images to share. PSCCU staff will be in touch to discuss the opportunity further.
