Originally chartered in 1934 as Puget Sound Power & Light Employees Credit Union; today’s Puget Sound Cooperative Credit Union (PSCCU) is not only a not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperative, but we have grown to become a proactive contributor to environmental sustainability, financial security for others, and job creation.
Yes, we offer all the financial products and management tools anyone should need, but we diversify ourselves by incorporating a pay-it-forward approach to our members, the environment and communities by offering a variety of eco-friendly products, services and banking options. You see, we empower our members to do more than they thought they could with their banking relationship. We have a great respect and commitment for our combined social, economic and environmental convictions and have built, and will continue to build our financial cooperative around these ideals.
And last, but certainly not least, we offer something that is difficult to find these days—extraordinary personal service. The PSCCU team goes the extra mile for our members time and time again. We look at everyone as an individual, not as a profit, and work with our members to create a financial plan they can accomplish. Membership with PSCCU means you are an active participant with a group of people brought together under similar ideals and goals of not only bettering their family's financial well-being, but the local economy and our environment as well. We proudly stand behind our acts of social responsibility and welcome Washington State residents, as well as those who work or go to school in the state to join us.
To belong, all you have to do is open a Regular Savings Account with a $5.00 deposit. That's it! This Account is your member ownership deposit into PSCCU. That means you become a member-owner with voting rights and are eligible to serve on our volunteer Board and Committees. You'll also benefit from interest on your deposit accounts, better rates on a variety of loans, and knowing your deposits are contributing to our acts of social responsibility through a variety of measures. Who knew just $5.00 could go so far, and mean so much!

Once a PSCCU member, always a PSCCU member
As long as you maintain at least your initial $5.00 deposit, it doesn't matter where you live, work, attend school—you can easily remain a member thanks to our multiple Resources that allow you to bank with us from anywhere in the world. Click on the Amenities menu at the top to see a list of all the ways you can keep your PSCCU membership anywhere, at any time.
And you never have to worry about the safety of your money because PSCCU's members’ savings are federally insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), administered by the National Credit Union Association (NCUA). The NCUSIF is backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. Government and not one penny of insured savings has ever been lost.
