Who knew what an impact just $5 could make
Originally chartered in 1934 as Puget Sound Power & Light Employees Credit Union; today’s Puget Sound Cooperative Credit Union (PSCCU) is not only a not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperative, but we have grown to become a proactive contributor to environmental sustainability, financial security for others, and job creation.
We have become the financial cooperative with a social conscience all-in-one
Yes, we offer all the financial products and management tools anyone should need, but we diversify ourselves by incorporating a pay-it-forward approach to our members, the environment and communities by offering a variety of eco-friendly products, services and banking options. You see, we empower our members to do more than they thought they could with their banking relationship. We have a great respect and commitment for our combined social, economic and environmental convictions and have built, and will continue to build our financial cooperative around these ideals.
And last, but certainly not least, we offer something that is difficult to find these days—extraordinary personal service. The PSCCU team goes the extra mile for our members time and time again. We look at everyone as an individual, not as a profit, and work with our members to create a financial plan they can accomplish. We learn about them, their dreams, their goals—and we always strive to show our members that this is the place where membership really has meaning.
We welcome you to look around our website to see not only how we can help you empower your money, your family and your business—but also how your membership with PSCCU means you play a contributing role in our socially-responsible banking initiatives. Then when you're ready, contact us or click to join PSCCU and really see what an impact you can have on so many levels.
mem·ber·ship, noun: all the people or things that belong to or are part of an organization or a group
Membership with PSCCU means you are an active participant with a group of people brought together under similar ideals and goals of not only bettering their family's financial well-being, but the local economy and our environment as well. We proudly stand behind our acts of social responsibility and welcome Washington State residents, as well as those who work or go to school in the state to join us.
To belong, all you have to do is open a Regular Savings (Share) Account with a $5.00 deposit. That's it! This Share Account is your member ownership deposit into PSCCU. That means you become a member-owner with voting rights and are eligible to serve on our volunteer Board and Committees. You'll also benefit from dividend-earnings on share accounts, better rates on a variety of loans, and knowing your deposits are contributing to our acts of social responsibility through a variety of measures. Who knew just $5.00 could go so far, and mean so much!
We also make applying easy and convenient for you.
Once a PSCCU member, always a PSCCU member
As long as you maintain at least your initial $5.00 deposit, it doesn't matter where you live, work, attend school—you can easily remain a member thanks to our multiple Resources that allow you to bank with us from anywhere in the world. Click on the Amenities menu at the top to see a list of all the ways you can keep your PSCCU membership anywhere, at any time.
And you never have to worry about the safety of your money because PSCCU's members’ savings are federally insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), administered by the National Credit Union Association (NCUA). The NCUSIF is backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. Government and not one penny of insured savings has ever been lost.

More Member Benefits
Here is a list of a few more benefits we offer our members, but as we said before, the list continues to grow as we continue to grow our relationship with you.
CardNav: Manage the use of your debit card using a Smartphone or tablet. It's great for parents wishing to monitor their children's spending, and for anyone wanting to ensure their debit card is being used how they want, where they want, when they want.
FREE Online Banking, Bill Pay & eStatements: Access your PSCCU accounts 24/7 from anywhere you have internet access. It's safe, secure, free and easy.
Better Service & No Stockholders: PSCCU is a not-for-profit, financial cooperative governed by an unpaid volunteer Board of Directors. These volunteers are all PSCCU members and elected by the members for the members. Which means when you belong to PSCCU, you are also an owner of the Credit Union. So the decisions made are truly for the benefit of our members, and not to fill the pockets of stockholders.
